In 2010, Rich Maggio and Rick Baldini disrupted the status quo between Tool Suppliers and Tile & Stone Distributors with the creation of Primo Tool Company. The two industry veterans recognized that relationships within the supply chain were not highly valued nor regarded as true partnerships. Both men had spent their entire careers building solid relationships and developing impeccable reputations in the industry. Leveraging Rich’s extensive knowledge of tool manufacturing and Ricks acute understanding of contractors’ preferences, Primo was born.
Primo was positioned to fill the gap by not only introducing high-quality traditional installation tools, but also to have the ability to convert contractors’ innovative concepts into timesaving, highly effective and versatile products. Examples include the Back Butter Buddy, the Bucket Brush, Roto-Wedges and the Wringmaster – inventive tools used daily by tile, stone & flooring contractors/installers.

Driven to supply an even broader spectrum of contractors/installers, and to offer additional innovative tools, the acquisition of a competitor was the most logical step. But only one competitor represented the ideal fit, A. Bottini.
Founded in 1975, the Bottini family tool business developed a comprehensive, quality tool line and an excellent industry reputation. But the company was not initially for sale.
After many discussions with Rick and Rich, the Bottini family grew to understand and appreciate that their legacy and the future of the company they built would be best preserved as part of Primo.
Finalized in 2016, the acquisition of A.Bottini provided many synergies. The hands-on personal approach that was the hallmark of Primo now extends to a much larger customer base.
